Steel Continuous Sucker Rod

Steel Continuous Sucker Rod

The company launched the R&D of steel continuous sucker rod in 2000. It is one of the rare domestic enterprises integrating scientific research, production and service, and also the first drafting unit of the industrial standard SY/T6585 Continuous Sucker Rod.

Supported by national special funds, our products own a number of independent patents.

Adopted the coupling-free design, it effectively reduces failure frequency and rod-tube wear, improves pump efficiency and liquid production, and lowers overall weight. It is suitable for small tubing conditions and greatly enhances operation efficiency, providing an efficient and reliable cost-saving and efficiency-improving solution for oilfield development.

    Structure Characteristics

Adopting a coupling-free integrated structural design, the product is manufactured by assembling and welding continuous rods of different specifications based on the equal-stress principle of sucker rods. It features high strength, superior flexibility and excellent fatigue resistance, and is suitable for long-term stable operation under complex well conditions.

    Coupling-free Design, More Reliable Structure

Eliminates failure points caused by couplings and threads of traditional sucker rods, featuring a more stable overall structure, longer service life, and effectively reducing the working stress of sucker rods.

Line Contact Design, Stronger Wear Resistance

Forms line contact with the oil pipe, with large contact area and small local pressure, significantly reducing rod-tube wear and improving equipment operation stability.

Suitable for Small Tubing, Better Economy

Compatible with small-diameter tubing, greatly saving tubing usage costs, helping oilfields reduce costs and increase efficiency, and improving overall economic benefits.

    Lightweight Design, More Efficient Operation

Compared with ordinary sucker rods of the same length, the weight is reduced by 8%-10%, which is convenient for transportation and installation, effectively reducing on-site operation intensity and improving operation efficiency.

    Product Advantages

    • Reduce Failure, Good Adaptability

The connection parts such as couplings and threaded joints of traditional sucker rods are prone to failure. By eliminating the design of connecting parts, the steel continuous sucker rod significantly reduces the failure frequency, especially when used with screw pumps, the advantage is more prominent.

    • Reduce Rod-tube Wear, Extend Equipment Life

The steel continuous sucker rod is in line contact with the oil pipe, which can increase the contact area and reduce local pressure, effectively reducing wear. It fundamentally solves the problem of easy damage of the thin wall of traditional couplings, and can effectively alleviate the problem of rod-tube eccentric wear, extending the service life of rods and pipes.

    • Improve Pump Efficiency and Liquid Production

After removing the coupling, the annular area inside the oil pipe increases, which reduces fluid flow resistance and makes well fluid easier to lift, thereby improving pump efficiency and increasing oil well liquid production.

    • Improve Operation Efficiency

Cooperating with the continuous rod operation vehicle for running and pulling operations, it greatly improves the operation speed, shortens the oil well workover time, and reduces labor intensity while increasing production.

Why Choose HIGHLAND Steel Continuous Sucker Rod

    Coupling-free design eliminates connection failure

Adopting an integrated coupling-free structure, it fundamentally removes the risk of stress concentration and fatigue fracture at the connection position. It is especially suitable for complex working conditions with progressive cavity pumps and extends the pump inspection cycle.

Line contact structure reduces rod and tubing wear

The rod and tubing form line contact with increased contact area and reduced local pressure, which effectively alleviates eccentric wear of rod and tubing, helps extend the overall service life of tubing and sucker rods, and reduces operation frequency.

Increased Annular Area Improves Pump Efficiency and Liquid Production

The increase of annular area inside the tubing reduces the flow resistance of well fluid and makes the flow passage smoother. This structural feature helps improve the pump filling coefficient and lifting efficiency, achieving higher liquid production under the same working conditions.
